Frequently Asked Questions
For a rectangle or square, multiply length by width. For example, a 10ft x 12ft room is 120 square feet. For circles, use the formula pi times radius squared (A = pi x r^2). For triangles, multiply base by height and divide by 2 (A = base x height / 2).
Break the L-shape into two rectangles, calculate each area separately, then add them together. Alternatively, calculate the overall rectangle and subtract the cutout area. Our calculator handles this automatically - just enter the overall dimensions and the cutout dimensions.
A 12x12 room is 144 square feet. This is a common bedroom size. To calculate, simply multiply 12 feet by 12 feet (12 x 12 = 144).
Divide square feet by 10.764 to get square meters. For example, 100 sq ft divided by 10.764 equals approximately 9.29 square meters. Our calculator automatically shows all unit conversions.
